The Organization Committee and executive direction of the Russian industrial ecology forum RosPromEco congratulate all on the World Oceans Day!
At an international conference at the highest level, which occurred in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), a new holiday was proposed – World Oceans Day.
Initially the goal of the holiday was the wish to engage the world community in the issues of oceans, which cover over 70% of the planet’s surface. It is no secret that the condition of the world’s oceans is deteriorating with each decade with humanity being at fault.
In 2008 the General Assembly of the UNO decreed (resolution № A/RES/63/111) that starting 2009 the holiday will officially be celebrated. Therefore, humanity has been given another chance to save nature at its best via joint efforts of all people and to care for the flora and fauna of the ocean.
